Friday my wife called me at work saying the oven wouldn't light, and I just got around to checking it out this morning. The oven ignitor sparked 3 times (not long enough to light) then nothing. So I tried the Broiler, it clicked and lit right up, then I tried the oven again and no clicks. Then tried the broiler again and no clicks. Is it possible/likely that both ignitors decided to die at the same time or it something else?

Thanks for any replies

Hi Greg,

Most likely the problem is a bad spark module (inside the control panel). It comes with the installation instructions.

- The part number for the spark module is AP3672576

Thanks Gene, I found a tech guide online and just finished the ac/dc voltage tests, and sure enough it's a bad spark moudule. Thank you for the part number. It looks easy enough to replace.

So the new spark module showed up today and I installed it....No dice. Did a complete diagnosis (following the flow chart) not just diagnosing the spark module. Now it looks like the spark module was ok, and I need a new gas control valve. Can you refrence that part for me?

page 23/24's flow chart. My wife thinks I should call an appliance repair guy, and now that I am this far in I don't want to. It's a new challenge.

Thanks for any info.

Here's a link to all the parts for this range in case this helps anyone else in my shoes later on.

Did you check the valve/regulator as described in your manual on page 17?

All fixed. The long and short of the whole thing is, the first time I did the electrical diagnosis I started diagnosing the problem at the spark module as opposed to starting at the beginning and working through all of the potential bad parts. Now I have a new spark module to keep track of until it decides to go bad. Thanks for the help

Greg,

I'm glad you were able to fix it.
