Stove Knob Suddenly Sparking Wrong Ignitor

My front-right burner stopped working. Upon investigation, the knob for the front-right burner was somehow sparking the ignitor on the back-right burner. The back-right burner still only lights when the correct knob is used, so the malfunctioning knob does not seem to be releasing gas in that back burner. Any idea what the heck is going on?
