I can not get the oven burner to light. The stove top burners work. The pilot lights low at first, then grows in size when the oven temperature is set above "Pilot."
There are two vales inline with the burner. The top valve, "thermostat valve" is on with the cook top controls and has the temperature knob attached to it. The second valve, is the "oven valve", it is located in the oven compartment connects directly to the burner and it has a thermal sensor under the pilot flame. The thermostat valve supplies gas to the oven valve. I removed the gas line to the oven valve and confirmed gas is flowing to the oven valve. That is the supply line to the oven valve seems clear. I replaced the
oven valve with a new one. I still have the same problem. Pilot lights, heats the sensor, gas never flow to the oven burner.
- Did I get a defective oven valve?
- Should I replace it again?
- Is there something tricky about mounting the oven sensor near the pilot? I tried heating the sensor with a butane lighter while the pilot was burning. So I know the sensor got good and hot.
- Is there a way to test the oven valve with it removed from the oven?
This is getting really frustrating because I can not bake cookies or toast bread in my trailer anymore.
Thanks
