kitchenaid cooptop short

Model Number: kecd865hbl4 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 1 - 5 years

Everything was fine until this morning. I heard a sudden noice from the cooktop near by the swtches and the cooktop lost power after. We did have some water spill on the cookyop before this happened. Is that possible that water short the electricity? How can I fix it? Help needed!!!!
