Is this an easy item for a DIY job? Any pictures or precautions anyone would have to help on this? Thanks in advance.

Roundrobin,

It usually is a pretty easy repair, just basic handtools .

But first,

Why are you replacing the element, is it visibly damaged or broken ?

The repair itself is relatively easy :

Turn power off the range, or unplug power cord.

With oven door open or removed(removal is best) remove screws holding element assembly to oven wall.

Carefully slide element assembly out of cavity wall opening and disconnect wires from element terminals.

Reverse procedure to complete repair.

I believe this is the part you are needing

Part number: AP4268250
Part number: AP4268250

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Thanks, Joe. When turned on to preheat, the element showed one particular hot spot and in a few seconds started arcing. Turned off and assumed element would need to be replaced...correct?

Roundrobin,

Very Good,

Yes , your element is about gone.

Didn't want you replacing a part you may not need.

Just Remember to turn off the power, you don't want to short anything out,

Parts are getting scarece for older units.
