SAVAGE is on a distinguished road
Default Element Blew-up!
Model Number: 911.9562990   Brand: Kenmore   Age: More than 10 years

My lower element blew apart with a bang during cleaning. ( I assume the sugar laden peach pie drippings were to blame - got extra hot?) Replaced the element but now neither element will get hot. Checked connections from back, and the common leg tied to both is hot 120 v. There seems to be power from the other leg going to the thermostat from the selector switch. The thermostat clicks and the heating indicator light comes on, as the light is tied to the leg that is working. Have I done everything that now points to a fried thermostat?

I don't have the wiring diagram for this range but if the wires with no proper voltage are connected to the oven thermostat then this part is the first failure suspect. If you can post the wiring diagram, it might help for more accurate advise.

- The part number for the oven thermostat is AP2023454
