The bake element on my wall oven burned out. I replaced the element and the oven does not heat up. The broiler element does not heat up either. I have checked the safety thermostatic for continuity and it s good. I assume the control board is bad. Is there a way to check this before i order a $200 part? Would the element burning out short out the card?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for FRIGIDAIRE GLEB30S9FSA Frigidaire/wall Oven | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is a service manual which I think is close to yours http://frigidaireservicetips.com/pdfs/481_18.pdfTry flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! I am not sure how the safety thermostat works on this unit so I would remove power from the oven, unplug one side of the thermostat and check it with a meter should be 0 ohms. Is there a way to check this before i order a $200 part? There does not look to be any diagnostics. The Frigidaire site seems to be down so I cannot get you a tech sheet with a confirmed wiring diagram for this unit. Would the element burning out short out the card? Does not really short it out but often when an element burns out it creates a voltage spike and that can blow electronic parts on the control board. |

Thanks. I checked all the voltages and they are correct. The resistance on the thermostat is 0 ohms.
I disconnected the l2 out of the card and checked the voltage with the oven in bake. The l2 to neutral was zero. I would have thought this should be 120v.

Since there is a L2 in and a L2 out there may be a relay on the board that closes on this line. And if the relays for the bake or broil are not closing you would see 0 volts from L2 out to Neutral. |

Got the board in today. Hooked it up and the oven works. $300 to replace the burner and the control board on a 4 year old oven that isn't used to often. Doesn't say too much about frigidaire's quality. Thanks to ApplancePartsPro for getting me the parts quick.
