Trying to clean, self cleaning oven. when I push the self cleaning button instead of the oven starting it says door. Is something wrong. Why won't it lock

Why won't it lock Suzy, Does the oven door close completely ? On your oven, when you open the oven door, you should find a switch button assembly in the right top corner of the opening. If that switch is broken or the wires are damaged the control will not see that the door is closed and it will not allow the control to go into the self clean cycle. I suspect, you don't hear the latch motor run, do you ? Also this only occurs when self clean is selected, you can bake and broil as usual ? Drop us a line if you need more assistance. :) :) :)
