Our GE gas cooktop is toast (ha) and we have been asked by our home warranty company to look at a potential replacement and let them know if it will fit.

When I look underneath, I see three model numbers: GE cooktop (JGP640ES3BG), back downdraft (DD660) and downdraft venting system (JXDV6601).

I've been asked to look at Whirlpool cooktop (GLT3657RB) and hood (HV363). I suspect they gave me the incorrect hood # to look at, since the Whirlpool website says it is recommended for electric cooktops only. GZ7936XHS would seem to be the correct hood (or whatever version of that is in black).

Our cooktop is installed in our center island, in a granite countertop.

Do these 2 Whirpool parts replace the 3 GE parts, or am I missing another part? Also, would I need to replace anything other than these 3 GE parts? And, finally, is this Whirpool countertop / downdraft system drop-in replaceable for the GE system, or will this potentially require modification to the cabinets and /or granite countertop?
