Default Loss of Switch Membrane Touch Contols
Model Number: SVE46700W   Brand: Jenn-Air   Age: 5 - 10 years

The switch membrane touch controls fail to operate. The clock, oven controls, temperature, cancel etc do not work. The oven light is on all the time. The fan on the back wall behind the membrane runs all the time.

This event started when I replaced the electronic oven control assembly (Maytag part) because the display would not light.

The new part does display a flashing time that is wrong, cannot be reset, but runs as time goes by.

Replacing the new part with the old part does not change anything except the inactive display returns. The touch controls do not work.

I would say the membrane pad is bad as well. Mine acts the same way with the membrane pad unplugged.
