Default Extra Prongs on Replacement Part
Model Number: RD365PXGW1   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: More than 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I have a Whirlpool Range/Oven. The part number I needed replaced is a 3196967. I recieved the MFG replacement part of 4453710. To my surprise there are two extra prongs on the back of the unit.

One of them says L2 and the other says DLB. I didn't have either of these before on the original part.

What are these for? How should I terminate them? Do they carry voltage that could cause a fire? Is there another part that I need to terminate them?

I could really use your help.

Whirlpool has discontinued the old control board 3196967 and replaced it with 4453710 which is very similar to the old one. The new control board covers much more different models with different wiring schematics.

In your model, according to the wiring diagram, L2 comes straight to the oven heating elements. That means you should leave the L2 and DLB terminals on the new control board unused.
