Model Number: MER5775RCS Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
This is a glass top range. The burner is a triple ring unit with a "powerboost" feature.
So, if you turn the switch left, only the smallest ring should work. It doesn't. When I turn the switch to the right, the smallest and medium ring should work, once again the smallest ring doesn't work, the medium one does. In this position when I turn on the powerboost switch, the largest ring should turn on and it does. So basically the smallest ring never works. Took out the switch, there doesn't seem to be any continuity between P1/S1 and 4 no matter if the switch is off, or on to the left or right. The other prongs have continuity. I find this odd since from the wiring diagram, it looks like there is power going through prong 4 since that's needed to light up the medium and large rings. Then again, my knowledge is limited, thus my post here. I'd like to make sure it's the switch and not the burner and since this switch has the most complex wiring, I'd like some feedback if possible. Here is the wiring diagram for it. Any help will be appreciated, thank you. ![]() Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by JarekS : 08-16-2010 at 07:16 AM. |
