Model Number: SVD48600B Brand: Jenn-Air Age: More than 10 years
My Jenn-air dual-fuel range/oven is constantly running the cooling fan (not the convection fan and not the exhaust fan) and the interior oven light will not turn off. I was having problems with the touch control pad and replaced it. That triggered the above issues as well as the problem of not being able to turn on the downdraft exhaust fan. I posted a thread on another repair forum with paid "professional technical" advisors and they recommended I replace the heat sensor. Did that AND the clock panel - no change. Any suggestions.?

You may want to start the troubleshooting from verifying the proper connection of the membrane switch ribbon cable to the control board.
Using a magnifying glass, check the ribbon cable for a hairline cracks. What is the part number of the new membrane switch you installed? I would not be surprised if the new part is defective. Gene. P.S. The heat sensor has nothing to do with this problem. No doubt about it.

The part number is 695608 which is the entire front touch panel for the range. The ribbon connection looks fine to me. I have emailed the seller to see if an exchange is possible. This seems to be the cause of the "fan" switch not working, but even without the control panel connected to the range the interior light stays on and the cooling fan runs! I tried taking the light door switch off and swapping it with the one on my wall oven (same switch I noticed) and it still runs. The fan and light problem developed when I changed out the touch control panel - but I do not feel the control panel is the cause. Maybe time to retire this one!

Very likely it will fix it (with the exchanged control panel) but I can not guarantee it 100%.
Anyway there is the win-win situation for you because if you will order the new relay board from Appliance Parts Pros and it would not fix it, you can easy return it because of their very friendly return policy. Gene.

Gary,
You may want to check how the range is wired in. Make sure it is connected to electricity according to the Installation instructions and you have good ground and neutral at the outlet as well as at the range terminal block. Gene.

We are not talking about location of the range. We are talking about the wires, connectors and circuit breakers.
Gene.
