SO GENE...
YOU MUST STILL HAVE dagrove2146 AS A CONTACT VIA EMAIL...IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIND OUT IF HE WAS EVER SUCCESSFUL IN REMEDYING HIS ISSUES WITH HIS STOVE? IT SEEMS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT SO MANY OF THESE STOVES WITH IDENTICAL ISSUES MIGHT HAVE A COMMON REPAIRABLE FAULT. I WAS TOLD ON ANOTHER SITE TO "replace the J2 harness and install additional Ferrite bead(s) on the harness at the new relay board"....COULD THIS BE THE ANSWER? STILL LOOKING FOR THE FIX, GARY |

I Seem To Have Lost My Way Back To Where We Were....do You Still Have Contact With Dagrove2146....what Was The Outcome Of His Efforts? It Seems That So Many Of The Same Models Having The Exact Issues Would Indicate A Common Fault And Resulting Common Fix... Gary |

I found the solution and I beleive that Gene mentioned this fix.
1.) Turn Power off to range. 2.) I removed the front control panel from the range, and exposed the circuit board directly behind the touch pad membrane. 3.) I removed the ribbon connections running from the control board to the touchpad screen on the front. 4.) Took alcohol (rubbing not Vodka) and a Q-tip and cleaned both sides of the ribbon that fit into the connection on the board. (App. 1") 5.) Replaced the ribbon when dry, re-installed panel, turned on power and WORKING! 6.) Cheap fix ($0.00) and takes 30 - 45 minutes. Hope this info helps - Jamie! |
