I need to replace my heating element. It just lit up and cracked and caught on fire. When I unscrew the two screws to replace it with the new one, the piece does not come out easily. I'm nervous about just pulling it out, and there is some insulation behind the prongs. Can I do this myself, or should I call a profession to install it???????????

You should be able to pull the element out carefully and get to the connections on the back. Its OK if you pull some insulation out to. Just tuck it back in there later. If your element has the screws holding the wires onto the terminals, use a pair of pliers to hold the new element's terminals while you tighten the screws. You don't want to bend them too much. You said I should unplug the heating element. Unplug? Unplug from where? The only thing that I saw was the two screwsw, which I already was able to unscrew. thanks,
