I am hoping someone more astute then I, can help me. I have been doing some research but I have not found my exact issue and or model with regards to my concern/issue.
when the oven is put on bake or broil for 5-10 minutes (even after ignition) there is a gas smell.
here is what I have observed...
on bake or broil the igniter will get red/orange and the gas will light within about 1 minute of hitting the start button.
My research thus far suggests if could be the igniter or valve.
What if anything can I do to figure this out?

The gas leak is very serious issue and a guessing is not an appropriate way to fix it. You may want to call a local gas company to check the oven with a special leak detectors in order to figure out exactly where it is leaking from. Post the results. well, I was hoping there might have been enough info so that I would not have to pull it out to do all the tests.... though I do it old school... I can only guess here that as I suspected the symptom can lend itself to either component and or the lines.... however, because the smell is only there for 5-10 minutes and only with the oven/broiler it seems to me it would have to be something on the aft side of the valve or to be more clear from where the internal part opens to feed the tube that feeds the oven/brioler. does this logic sound, sound? and I mean this valve Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Valve-gas, part number: AP3180965

It can be this gas valve as well as some other parts.

More likely the problem is a bad (weak) oven igniter. It does not draw enough current and that's why the gas valve does not open completely. - The oven igniter Part number: AP3129373
Gene. P.S. You can check it by measuring the current drawn by the igniter. If it's 3.2 amps or less, the igniter is the culprit.

There is no DC voltage in this range.
