Model Number: JB400/g0H5HA Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
My wife says the large burner on her electric stove gets too hot. Does the burner stay in the high posltion all the time when the switch is in the high position or should it go in a lower heat?

If the burner stays wide open all the time then the switch is bad. It's tiny little contacts are welded together and dreaming of their next burnt shrimp creole meltdown. Replace that switch.
