My oven and broiler igniter will not light and I do not hear the gas getting to the oven. I had the gas company come out and the person told me it was an electrical problem and that I probably needed a new Silicon Carbide Igniter. For the last couple of weeks the oven temperature has been fluctuating and finally went out all together. Do you think that this part is really what I need and is it hard to install it myself? Thank you for your assistance.:)

Most likely the problem is a bad oven igniter (#218 on the diagram). This part in not too difficult to replace yourself. Remove the oven floor and you'll see what to do next. Do not forget to remove the power from the range. - The oven igniter Part number: AP2020569
