My wife had been complaining about the oven not getting hot. I checked for myself and found that the upper element for the broiler works fine, but the bottom bake element does not get hot at all. I turned the bake knob off, but accidentally left the thermostat on, and did not unplug the oven. I unscrewed the two mounting screws holding the bottom element in place to inspect the connectors. I was going to get my meter and check the voltage going to the element when it started sparking when one of the power connectors on the element touched the frame and began sparking. So after I changed my underwear :), I pulled the oven away from the wall and unplugged it from the power. I then pulled the connectors and everything looked fine. I re-applied power and all seems functional except the bottom element. So I am guessing I don't need to use my meter to see if I am getting power to the element since my dummy spark test showed me that. With all that said, does it sound like I have somewhat isolated the problem to the element? Also, I see there is a 240V element and a 208v element noted for this unit. How can I tell which one I have or/and how much does it matter? Thanks
