We have a 6'ish-year-old Maytag gas range that has generally worked well up til now. Recently, we've noticed that, when the oven lights, you hear a "whoosh", almost as if the ignitor is firing too long after the gas starts flowing. Last night, I could even see the oven chamber light up inside when the gas lit - it was a flash that clearly has not happened consistently over the unit's lifetime.

So a question for the experts - the wife is freaked out... I'm not quite there, but a bit nervous. (1) Safe to continue using or not? (2) What's the most likely bad part (or parts)?
