Hi, I am trying to repair this slide in Range. It has no display on the oven controls. No clock, no beep, I can't get it to do any thing. The cooktop all works fine. I know the parts are expensive. Microcomputers, Touch pad ect. I would like get it on the first try if possible. Any Help??
Thanks

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL KESC300HBT8 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a tech sheet
http://www.servicematters.com/docs/wiring/Tech%20Sheet%20-%209754365.pdf

Try the following first, you may have lost Neutral.
Since the stove top runs OK you have the 240 volts.
Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.

I would replace the micro-computer (control) board.
It is the most likely.
It is still a bit of a crap shoot as there are no pin-out diagrams for the keyboard so it cannot be checked first.

Since you have done some troubleshooting if you order it from AppliancePartsPros and it does not fix the probelm they will let you return it if it does not fix the problem. see their return policy.

Well, found out the house had a bad transformer and the electric company fixed the problem. Microwave, phone, misc lights, "Oven controls" not working cook top works. I took apart the back of the oven and found the power suppressor all burnt also the clean latch coil no continuity. I have the new control panel not opened yet. I can return it. There are 2 more boards that can be bad and who knows what else. So the question, start replaceing parts or just buy a new range???
Thanks

It does sound like the unit took a really bad hit.
I must agree with you that it may be a better solution to put the dollars into a new unit as who knows what other parts will have to be installed to get it up and running again.

In my neck of the woods the electrical company will often compensate for the replacement of appliances etc. if the problem is due to their equipment. They do not advertise this but it is available. If you have not already done it, you may want to look into this. Perhaps you will get lucky and they will chip in a couple hundred dollars or if very lucky more.
