I have a Roper gas oven that ignites on its own.
The control dial for the oven isn't very stable if you brush up against it while moving around the stove, it is possible that it will start it.
Because of this i am very diligent and check it every time I leave my home. However, for the last two days in a row the stove has ignited on its own with no one around it has been very dangerous as a fire may erupt. I have been very lucky to come home in time these past two nights. I read in these forums that it may be a thermostat but the dial problem also troubles me. Could someone please help me fix this or do I really have to buy a new stove.
Thank You PaulyP
