My Hotpoint gas oven won't heat compleatly to baking temps. I don't
think it is getting over 200F. I have checked resistance to the oven
sensor and it is 1089 ohms from the connector at the circuit board with
the connector removed. It should check at 1100 ohms + or - 20. This
should put it in range. However with the connector connected to the circuit board it only reads 970 ohms. Does this mean the sensor is bad,
the circuit board is bad or neither?

First thing I would do is cut out the connector at the sensor and hardwire it. Sometimes that connector can be bad. Then check resistance back at the board.

It does the same hard wired. With the sensor wires off, resistance between the pins 4 and 5 of the circuit board is about 8700 ohms.

With the plug removed from the board resistance between the 2 white wires is 8700 ohms? If thats the case the sensor is bad.

No,the resistance of the two circuit board pins is 8700 ohms. The resistance of the sensor from the connector that plugs in to the board
is 1089 ohms. I guess what I need to know is do I check sensor resistance
with the plug connected or disconnected?

Check resistance with plug disconnected, 2 white wires. Your sensor is fine if you have 1089ohms.

If it will only get to 200degrees, check the resistance of the bake element with wires removed, same for the broil element, post results.. Also check to make sure you have 120 volts red to white and 120 volts black to white and 240 volts red to black at the terminal block where the power cord connects to the range.

Ok, this is a model number RGB746HED3WH. The oven lights up with the orange glow under the bottom plate in less than 60 seconds. The broiler
lights up in less than 60 seconds as well. The sensor has 1089 ohms measured
from the plug that connects it to the control board. What do I do next?

When you say lghts up I assume you mean the glowbar comes on and lights the gas to the bake and broil tubes, do you notice if the gas stays lit on the bake burner, or does it go out and come back on constantly? I would check the resistance of your bake glowbar, should be between 50-150ohms

I got 202 ohms on the bake glowbar.
