Default Whirlpool Codes? Do not seem to be error codes
Model Number: GR673LXSS   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

We had an electrical surge at the home and now the range is not working correctly.
I see nothing on the control panel, but if i rotate one of the burner knobs to on i get these "codes"
AM71
UI45
EEWE T204
I can set the clock and oven lights come on (but again i have to rotate the burner knob). No heat coming from any burners or oven.
Can you explain the numbers that are showing on control panel?
Thanks,
tara

Default Problem solved...

I am posting for information only. The problem with my whirlpool was not an range problem it was insufficient power.
i decided to post here as most answer posts involve purchasing parts, or they are not answered.
If you throw these codes, check your electrical supply.
Whirlpool was not helpful when i called. They seemed to have no record of these codes. But the woman on the phone let me know they do not share info with callers but they should have a service call.
My problem was i did not know which to call appliance or electric service.

I am experiencing the same issue, I called Whirlpool they told me it was not an error code but a rebooting code and I needed a service call. Of course I told him I did not want to put out $160 if it could be electrical, just then I saw your issue, so needless to say I did not schedule a service call. But would like to know how you resolved it. Breaker or 220 cord?

Default That is what whirlpool wanted me to do to.

What i wanted to know from them was do i need a service for appliance repair or electrical repair.
i did not post my exact fix because it was unique. i live in a vintage home that still has the long post fuses. i had pulled them out for another problem and when i reinserted them i had bent a prong and was not getting full power. i was getting 110 from the good side of the fuse holder and the bent side was not delivering any power. So i was showing some function (lights and clock). Never threw a error code that had an E or F associated with it.
A friend came over with a voltage meter and tracked it down. Whirpool knew well and good what those codes were, it was not just a random set of numbers, as evidenced by you having them also.
Check electical not your range.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your diagnosis and repair with us. It's not often we see problems caused by insufficient power, so your post was very illuminating and informative.

Thanks again and good luck with your range.

Gene.

Hello, I have a Whirpool Range and it has also started this problem. I was cooking dinner for my wife when the burners stopped working and the oven seemed to continue until the baking was complete and I canceled the oven. The screen went blank. I then noticed the burners had quit working as well. When I turned the knobs off there was nothing at all as far as power from what I could tell. Then I turned on one burner and the LED screen came to life at the clock set screen. I set it and then turned the burner off and the screen went black again. The breaker is still on but saw where someone said to shut it off for one minute and then back on. Did that and nothing changed. Did you find a solution? My house is 7 years old but I bought it when it was built new. This has me puzzled. I will tell you why. A year ago I had a 15 yr old coil range. It was hideous and it finally quit. I bought a new Samsung that was alot like this Whirlpool. It did the same thing as this one is now doing. I had such a bad time trying to get the A&E service people that has the contract service for all big box store warranties. They never showed. With no call. Then they told me when I called them asking where they were that they could come back on another date that I knew I was going to be out of town. I tried to change that date (which was 2 weeks going to 4) and they refused and hung up on me. Never would let me talk to supr when I called back. Kept hanging up. Home Improvement store with Blue letters told me to bring it back for full refund as they had problems and were trying to get another secondary repair. Local shop. Long story but here I am now with this one. Can't understand what the problem is with two different brands when the old range worked fine. Samsung only for 2 days and this one 5 months. So I would not think that it is the house as it has worked that long and quit while cooking!
