GE Over the Range (Spacemaker) Microwave Model number JVM 1631BB006

Today my microwave started making a humming sound and then it tripped the fuse and turned off. I am not sure if it heats because it only goes about 20 - 25 seconds before it trips the fuse and turns off. I put an ice cube in there and it did not melt it in the 23 seconds it was on.

Before this I had been having trouble with the turntable. It stopped turning and once in a while it would make a horrible sound. Sounded like it was trying to turn and was stuck.

Please advice.

Thanks!

Most likely the problem is a bad capacitor (#49 on the break down diagram), but also it could be a bad diode (# 50 on the break down diagram)and/or magnetron (# 73 on the break down diagram).

You have to check all these parts for continuity.

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE microwave Model JVM1631BB006
