Default GE Spacesaver microwave issue
Model Number: JVM1660WB001   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

The bulbs blew (surface lighting) and tripped the circuit breaker. When I replaced the bulbs, the surface lighting and the vent don't work (although rest of microwave is fine). Is there a fuse or something that I could replace? I unscrewed the bottom of the microwave but looked like I would have to take more apart to find out if a fuse even exists.

when that happens there is a trace on the circuit board that burns, I just resolder the missing trace with a piece of wire, but if that is not something you can do, you will need a new circuit board. To get to the circuit board, remove 2 screws on top above the vent grille, take grille off, remove 1 screw above the control panel, and take the control panel down..Make sure your microwave is unplugged. Now you can remove the 3 or 4 screws that hold the circuit board onto the panel. Look at the bottom of the board, and you will see the bad trace.

Default Replacing circuit board

So is this something a novice could do? And if yes, where do I get the part? Thank you!

A novice can do it, if you can solder, you can fix it for free, if you would rather get a new board, you can get it here. AP2631621
