Model Number: rvm1335bc001 Brand: Hotpoint Age: 5 - 10 years
Making a strained noise. Seems to be working harder than usual. Safety thermostat shuts microwave down to cool off. Something is heating up. Door switches all work. Could it be magnatron tube?

[quote=butch194928;202028 Model # RvM1335BC001 Hotpoint over the range microwave. Making loud humming sound. Still works well. Heats normally. Shuts down, probably safety thermostat shutting down because something is heating up. Cools down then comes back on-line. Magnetron or Diode maybe? HELP PLEASE.
