My microwave heats, but after my daughter gave it a good "slam shut," the upper latch no longer seems to completely catch, and the upper part of the door opens ever so slightly during the heating process which stops it cold.

I then need to give it a little push back into place and resume heating. It occurs multiple times during the heating cycle as tho the vibration of the heating process shakes the top latch loose from its catch or sensor.

The bottom latch locks securely everytime.

I am guessing that there is a opposite hooking pin, bar, or something of this sort onto which the 2 door latches clip over and that the upper one is either worn or partially broken.

What are your thoughts on this? What part(s) do you think need to be replaced? And most importantly, can I do it myself?

Thanks, JR
