Our microwave oven has power and looks like it should be working (the control panel works, the light works and the turntable works), but it doesn't heat foods. What is the diagnosis and is it worth fixing? It had been making the ticking sound for a few seconds then shutting off, but now it seems to work okay except it doesn't heat anything up.

Also, this microwave was included in a recall, but apparently the repairs for the recall were never made (the microwave was in the home when we bought it recently). Could this problem be a result of faulty wiring the recall would have addressed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
