We recently repaired the broken latch on our microwave thanke to the assistance from the forum. However, we are still having problems with our microwave.

When we turn the microwave on, it starts making a ticking or clicking sound for a few seconds and then shuts off. We opened up the control panel to check the connections. We made sure everything was securely attached and then it seemed to work, but when we closed up the control panel it started doing the ticking thing again and shut off after a few seconds. We tried it again with the control panel open and it still ticks and stops working, so it doesn't seem to matter if the panel is opened or closed- it keeps shutting off.

Can anyone give us some advice?
