Model Number: JES1384SF 04 Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Our 2.5 year old GE Profile microwave which also browns, just stopped for no reason, it flipped the breaker for kitchen outlets
I unplugged the unit, then reflipped the breaker. Plugged unit back in and there is nothing!!! No signs of life Any takers? Heck can't even find this unit on any appliance website. GE website has Model's manual which I looked thru completely didn't find anything useful. Can anyone send me a link to an inside diagram of this unit. My Dad used to alway's say, 'with any repair start with the simplest & cheapest part first' My guess is a reset button or a fuse, where can I find that once cover is off? I appreciate any help. Hope you & your's have the BEST 2010, man do I feel old. Cheers! Scotty Ads By Google Related Models |

GE is very secretive about their technical information, unless the technician is factory trained and authorized. Microwave diagnosis can be done, but in a forum environment, the steps toward a successful repair can take several posts. If you have the time, tools, and patience, we can start. First, test your outlet for the proper voltage (120VAC), and polarity. Post your results.

GE is really something in mid 2008 I thought I heard that they had got rid of their entire on the road home appliance repair division. I guess everyone is effected in this economy, UPS let 1800 management and supervisory positions go this past Friday, and more are to come. The first thing I did was to check outlet for proper polarity, then to satisfy the wife, I plugged in a toaster, then a Kitchenaid big mixer and it all worked fine. I also checked polarity on all 8 outlets along that wall in our kitchen, microwave is only appliance that is alway's plugged in. I appreciate any advise you can pass my way. Cheers! Scotty |
