not heating
Model Number: JVM1631WB002 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
My GE looks and sounds like it is performing but not heating. The problem first started with loud groaning during operation only occationaly. Then the suface lights under the unit blew out. If I remember right (it has been out for some time) It continued to heat and work for a while after these symptoms. But now nothing. Lights in the unit come on , turntable turns, and it sounds like it is working, just no heat. On the verge of buying new when I came accross your site.

Hi Tony,
Most likely the problem with your microwave is a bad magnetron. - The part number for the magnetron is AP2631638 Here are the break down diagrams for the GE microwave Model JVM1631WB002 Gene.
