Model Number: JE2160SF03 Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a GE Counter top microwave that lost power all of a sudden a month ago. I purchased a fuse but not that it's powered i just see "Error" in the display and the Microwave isn;t working. What can this be? I'm trying to look at all repair possibilities before purchasing a new one. It's onlt 1.5 years old.

If it lost all power, there will be no display.
The items that can interrupt all power when they blow would be the fuse, the magnetron's thermal cutout / TCO / thermostat, or the cavity thermal cutout / TCO / thermostat. It sounds like you replaced the fuse and got power back, but now there's a constant "error" message on the display. I would first suggest a reset by unplugging the oven for about a minute, then trying it again. There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit either behind the control panel or on the inside of thepoute rcover. It is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing. You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here. I'd recommend that your bookmark this link to your favorites. Okay, since a reset didn't fix it, your humidity sensor has failed or its lead wire is disconnected from the circuiit board.
There should be a mini-manual / technical sheet in an envelope inside the outer wrapper of the oven. It will show you part locations and troubleshooting information. The sensor is actually part of an assembly which includes a duct and is listed as "HUMID SNSR/DUCT" and "Air guide outlet assy" in the parts lists I'm seeing. The reference number on the exploded views is 1450 and the part number is WB06X10499. You can find helpful exploded views and order parts here. |
