The microwave quit and I am confident that the problem is the door latch as it will work if I put some pressure or resistance against the door as I pull out on the handle. I am not sure how to access the latch. Could you tell me how to do that?

If you can feel the both hooks of the door latch are spring loaded then there is nothing wrong with the door latch.

Most likely the problem is a bad secondary interlock switch (the bottom door switch, #1446 on the break down diagram).

Remove the two screws holding the top grille.

Remove the top grille.

Remove the screw holding the control panel.

Slide the control panel up to release the tabs and pull it open.

- The part number for the secondary interlock switch is AP2024337
