OTHER NUMBERS ON DOOR FRAME, lower left side:
8538 792 54001
XNK4728723

You would think the engineers would at least label the "Model" & Serial #" if they worked for me they would be fired for their indifference to the consumer.

KitchenAid, Superba. built in micro/oven combo
installed june 2001

not certain but is/was the mfg. Whirlpool? or Kenmore?

Just replaced (1) the torsion door spring, thanks for excellent instuctions and pictures on how to do this. The spring had been broke for about 2 years. Unit worked fine without it, until recently. I thought the spring was the problem but obviously not.

Unit will only heat if i apply light pressure to the door during the on-heat cycle. I do not see away to adjust the door so the left and right prongs penetrate a fraction of an inch deeper into the frame, presumably that is the problem. Do i have to get into the unit and move the switch, to create a (unassisted) contact?

your help is appreciated, Steve
