Microwave oven, after replacing the magnatron because the cooking time has nearly doubled, still does not work right. The repairman suggested that probably the inverter needs replaced. Should we go ahead and spend the $200 for the inverter in addition to the $175 for the magnatron (which the repairman said was bad) or is it time to cut our losses and get a new oven. It is 6 years old. The repairman was highly critical of inverters in general, citing that they are prone to breakdown.
