Model Number: JVM1090   Brand: GE   Age: More than 10 years

I have a GE profile Microwave/Convection Oven. It went on the blink a few day's a go. My husband seen a flash in side where the grid is.Then it didn't start up after that. The buttons count down, but oven won't start up. My husband thinks it's the magatron. If so, is it worth fixing it himself. We paid About 650.00 in 1996.

Does it make any unusual noises?

Does it make any noises at all?

The model number you posted is incomplete. Verify and repost it, please.

I have a 12 yr old GE Profile Microwave/ Combination, #JVM1090. The lights and the buttons work. They work as though it wants to run, but it doesn't start up at all. What could be the problem? Old age.

What about noises and the rest of the model number?

I'm not able to see your microwave and for accurate advise I need as much information as possible.
