Microwave Repair

Hello,
We have the above mentioned model microwave. The upper (there are two) door latch broke. I have the part..#0226644393913, however I cannot release the inner, black-edged portion of the door to get to where I need for replacing the latch. I have unscrewed the visible screws. Any tips for releasing the inner door seal without cracking/breaking it? Thanks!
