Hi.
You should be OK, there is no radiation in this case. Unplug the m/w. Remove the top grill, open the control panel and using the multimeter check the door switches (the door sensing switch in particular) The switch Part number: WB24X829 Here are the breakdown diagram and Microwave parts for GE JVM1540SP1SS - AppliancePartsPros.com Post the results.
