Kenmore Elite Blown
I was cooking potatoes the other day and all of a sudden the microwave just stopped working. I unplugged the machine, checked the breaker and all was good. So i replugged the machine and it kinda appeared as if it was shorting out(lights flickered) and then nothing. No lights on the front panel, nothing. I checked the breaker again, as well as the power supply in the wall to ensure that was still working(everything is good).
I have since replugged the unit back in and I don't have the shorting out issue, but all I get on the front digital display is green boxes in across the display. There isn't any error code(ie F3, F7, F9), it's just all green boxes. I do not get any response from the buttons on the machine.
I'm on the fence as to getting a new microwave or trying to repair this one. The unit is around 6-7 years old and we have had no problems with it up to this point. I am a novice in terms of home repair, so i'm a bit concerned taking it apart, but willing to give it a shot considering the hefty price of a new unit.
Any ideas on the green lights across the digital display?
