OK! Almost there!
I got the new Magnatron installed and the microwave is now heating properly so thanks Gene for all your help! But.... I must have damaged or improperly re-installed one of the switches because the microwave will not shut of when i open the door. a couple of times after opening the door it did shut off after a 10 seconds or so but now it just keeps running when I open the doore Should I replace all three switches? How do I verify the proper wiring for the switches? I'm a bit worried that I may have inadvertently reversed the wiring on one of the switches. Which of the 3 switches is responsible for shutting off the microwave when the door is opened? Thanks! |

Bryan,
Do not use the microwave until it's fixed. It sounds to me like you probably miswired the door switches. Unfortunately, as you said before, you don't know how to read wiring diagrams. So, the one I posted before would not help. In such situation I need you to post description on all wires connected to the switches, using the wires color and names of the switches terminals. Gene.

Problem solved! Everything is working great now.
So I went back and checked the wiring on all three switches. Everything was wired properly. I decided to re-check the continuity on the switches and noticed one switch wasn't closing completely. Rather than showing 0 on the MM it would fluctuate from like 10-40. it was jumping around a lot. I replaced the switch and now the microwave stops properly when the door is opened. Thanks so much Gene for all your assistance! I'm back in business now. |

You are welcome Bryan. I'm glad it's up and running and you can have a morning cup of hot coffee.
Gene.
