Hi,
I have a Samsung above the range microwave that stopped heating. It cost $350 about 5 years ago so I don't want to toss it. I know how to discharge the cap so I am safe. I have 120V to the HV transformer so it is beyond that. I brought the HV cap in and an electric moter suppply shop charged it and snapped it, telling me it was good. I am not so sure this is the best test but I do not have access to a capacitor tester at this time. The HV diode reads open both ways on a standard diode test on my cheap Tenma DMM. The magnatron reads 0 ohms accross the pins and open on pins to chassis. Please help me troubleshoot further. If it is worth repairing I plan to purchase the parts from you as always. Is there a standard problem with these units? It seemed to have happened after a brown out. Thank you in advance for your advice!!
