Model Number: the Genius Brand: -other- Age: 5 - 10 years
Microwave runs 3 seconds & shuts off. Checked magnetron for continuity; no burned or severed wires visible anywhere. Please HELP!!!! Mrs. is very upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks (unit still looks new)

Clasic Problem
Hello: I have had that problem and have fixed it by replacing one of the 3 saftey Mico Switches on front door. I believe it is the top one that causes the 3 sec shutdown. Very easy to replace after turning off power, take cover off and without taking the door assembly apart the top switch can be replaced by lifting the little plastic retainer and pushing switch to the side before lifting out.
