My GE 240 Advantium microwave oven sent out some sparks but continued to run as normal, however, it is not working. The speed cook part works although it takes a minute or two longer. My husband is trying to reach the bad part but can't figure out how to get to it so my questions are:

What is the problem?

How do I reach the problem?

My husband is handy, is it safe for him to do the repair?
