I attempted to use the microwave when I started the unit I heard a strange electrical sound and it completely died. I replaced the fuse and it powered up but when I attempted to use it again I heard the same sound and once again it completely died. Do I need to replace the transformer? your assistance is greatly appreaciated.

Thank you,
Walter

Hi,

I would use a multimeter to see if the magnetron is shorted to ground first.
If the magnetron checked ok then I would replace the high voltage diode and try it again.
