I've experienced the same problem with my GE SpaceSaver and I think I've isolated it to an interior paint chip. The paint acts as isolator from the walls. Not certain how it became chipped, but I'll assume it was company I had that was always removing the metal shelf.
Anyhow I placed a large glass coffe mug filled with water in front of the chipped area along with another cup filled with water too and turned the Microwave on again. The oven does not fail. If you don't 'spot' any paint chip then this is not your problem - sorry I wasted your time. Good Luck! |

I just experienced the 3 seconds and shut off problems. The model is JVM1650WB008. What I found was directly behind the control panel mounted on the bottom plate is a temp sensor that read 120. I jumped that sensor and the problem resolved. I replaced the sensor and have had no problem since.

As abadfish66 said in the previous post the problem is a bad magnetron leaking RF.
- The part number for the magnetron is AP2025937 Gene.

As "abadfish66" and "Gene" stated - It's a defective MAGNETRON.
Just finished the replacement and tested several times - It's Fixed! It's one of the most expensive parts, but it sure beat buying a new MicroWave. Thanks to you 'guys' for your help - this Forum is very worthwhile Bob |

You're welcome, Bob. We're glad you were able to fix it.
Gene.
