I have a GE Profile microwave (bought in 2004 but not used until 2010 on a regular basis so not much use on it) and one of the plastic pieces on the latch slash spring assembly (part of the microwave door) broke off. I glued the plastic piece back but when I shut the microwave door, the fan goes on and will not shut off. I have ordered a new latch slash spring assembly from Appliance Parts Pro this morning (Part AP 2020315) which will be sent out to me over the next few days.

My question to you is whether this new latch slash assembly will solve the problem and shut the fan off or could there be some addiitonal problems besides the latch slash spring assembly?

Thank you very much for your consideration. Joe Baerlein
