Model Number: JVM1339BW002 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I recently replaced a door monitor switch. The microwave worked great for about a month after that, then it just went dead. I tried replacing the ceramic fuse, but as soon as I push the start button, the fuse blows once it begins to draw high power, which is about 2 seconds after I push start. I think it might be a short in the HV capacitor (from reading other threads). I have a multimeter, but not exaclty sure how to test the capacitor. I'm guessing that I just unplug the unit, remove the two leads going to the capacitor from the microwave, and touch the multimeter leads to the capacitor. What should I be looking for on the multimeter to determine if it is bad? Ads By Google Related Models |
