My GE Spacemaker II microwave has an intermittent problem where it won't stop running when the door is closed. Pushing buttons doesn't do anything, it does stop when the door is open (so door switch must be OK), and only will stop if it's unplugged and plugged back in. It will then work for a week or two, then repeat the symptom. It works fine otherwise.

I suspect some sort of controller board failure? I know these MW's have a lousy maintenance history but it's the only one that fits into our cabinet space so I need to fix it.

Thanks!

Update - this morning it freaked out again but in a different manner. It looked fine... but would not respond to any buttons being pushed when I tried to warm something. Display was ok, but perhaps some of the bars that should have been hidden were slightly illuminated. As usual, unplugging and plugging back in cured the problem.

I suspect it's a controller board of some sort - anyone have insights to share?

Thanks
