We recently purchased our home, and the microwave tray glass will not turn. We can see that the rotating ring assembly is turning underneath the glass, but the tray glass does not turn.

I thought potentially it was the wrong tray glass, since it did not have any "feet" to interlock with the rotating ring assembly. However, looking at #1508 (GE #: AP3793655), it appears that its not supposed to??

Some have just a friction fit.

Sometimes the wheels on the 3-legged rotating ring assemblies will not actually be rotating on the legs / axles due to grease, etc.

Sometimes they can warp due to heat.

Pull yours out and see that the legs are not slanted upward from the "hub" / coupler area of the assembly and that the wheels all turn freely.

If the legs are slanted, I have successfully used a gas stove flame to heat them near where the legs join the hub.

You have to be careful, and when the legs heat up enough to be a bit soft, you can set the assembly upside-down (or right-side up, whichever is appropriate) on a hard surface, place a heavy object on it, and let it cool.

Obviously, it's best to do a dry run and have everything lined up that you need to do it.

Also be sure the bottom of the turntable tray is clean and dry. Same for the floor of the oven.
